 My Cultural Vibatyion Report

My cultural vibrations report will provide information I have discovered about my musical instrument the bucket drum. My report will give interesting information about the design, the comparisons to older instrument, and the traditions important to my creation.

I have a musical instrument. My instrument is a bucket drum. My bucket drum has hip hop pictures on it. The reason I have hip hop pictures on my bucket drum is because my culture loves hip hop music.

To play my instrument you need to strike it because it is a percussion instrument. The reason I have to bang on it is because it’s a bucket drum. It represents hip hop, which means that people rap and use the words, “yo, what up homey”. My bucket drum is loud when I hit it. Its fun making instruments.

The African instrument, the Gong, looks like a bell. It is like a bucket drum because it is hollow. Both drums need to be hit to make noise. My bucket drum and the African instrument are different also. My drum is made of plastic. The African instrument is made of iron and wood.

My bucket drum is part of my cultural experience. My tradition of music is based on hip hop. People participate in this by a dance off, like a dance contest. If we win we would get money. It would be fun to be at a dance off. Also the winners get money, earn respect and  be the best of the best. Before we would dance we would have to put money in a bucket. So the  another  person’s team has to put money in the bucket. Who ever get’s the biggest crowd wins all the money. The costumes we have designed are black and white. The reason we have black and white is because hip hop people wear that. So we decided to wear that. They also wear hats side ways, so we did that too.

I hope you enjoyed learning about my home made instrument the bucket drum its design, its relationship to older drums and the tradition I created with it.

GONG!!!!!!
This is my African instrument it called a GONG!!!! it was made in the early mid-20th century.
My African instrument is from Africa. It's used to swing it back and forth like a bell. The cultural symbols are on the instrument is that it look's like a woman's face on the front.IT also looks like if it has a long neck.  An  gong is a type of percussion instrument used on a daily basis. In Africa, music has a role in everyday life as well as in special events. It's used in activities related to labor, religion  and cultural ceremonies.
Africans make musical instruments from bronze, iron and other materials they find. They often make drums, rattles, gongs and bells from roofing metal, oil drums and soup cans.
